joyandhopeforgrievingchildren

Up to 80,000 families in Southern California are affected by loss every year. The mission of jhcamp is to provide hope and joy to the grieving children in these families. jhcamp occurs in just a weekend, and the positive effects last a lifetime.

jhcamp serves children who have experienced the death of a loved one by providing the environment and education necessary to make choices in their lives that lead to their joy and happiness.

jhcamp is a weekend long camp for children 8-12 or teens 13-17 who have experienced the death of someone they love. jhcamp is a community where campers can speak openly about their loss, learn about the grieving process and the keys to happiness through group activities led by professional counselors, and receive support and encouragement from caring adults.

A play-work-play approach to the weekend provides an intense education in the grief process, keys to happiness, and builds self-confidence while the children laugh, play, and make lifelong friends.
