jhcamp is successful
through the caring actions of incredible volunteers. You don’t need to
have experienced a loss to volunteer at jhcamp, you just need to have a
caring heart and compassion for children.
Every organization is looking for people who are willing to volunteer –
whether it is your time, your talent, or your treasures, we are deeply
appreciative of the opportunity to gain your support.
There are a number of roles that volunteers fill within jhcamp.
We are attempting to create an organization comprised entirely of
volunteers, to keep our program costs as low as possible, and extend our
services to as many children as possible. Even if the time you can
offer is small, if it is filled with passion and purpose, it will lead
to jhcamp’s success!
Over the weekend:
Be a Big - you can be a one-on-one mentor to an individual jhcamper.
Be Artsy – lead arts and crafts activities during Circles.
Be a Therapist – we are always seeking empathetic and qualified
individuals to run our Circles.
Take Pics – who doesn’t like their picture taken?! Be the staff
photographer for a weekend.
Operations Support – help ensure that the camp experience is as positive
as possible for jhcampers.
Staff roles:
Volunteer Coordinator – help to keep current volunteers up to date,
and recruit and train new volunteers.
Client Coordinator – go into the community and find children who would
benefit from jhcamp. Partner with local organizations to ensure that
children and parents take advantage of our services.
Public Relations – spread the word on jhcamp in the community, so that
more children can benefit from its services. Everyone can do this!
Fundraising – we try to keep expenses to a minimum, but there are costs
associated with the program. No jhcampers are charged for attending, so
it requires us to request community support to ensure that jhcamp can
continue to provide this important community service.
Client Satisfaction – ensure that jhcamp delivers an exceptional
experience to both the jhcampers and all the volunteers, and we know
that there is always room for improvement. You can help with developing
and administering surveys to identify program strengths, and to drive
improvement actions where necessary.
Marketing Strategy and Execution – help jhcamp to keep costs to a
minimum, and still raise awareness and grow the demand for this unique
service.
Webmaster – this is our first generation website, and we’re happy to
have it. But, it can grow and improve over time, and you can lead that
change! |
